Culture and creative activity where there's
Culture enhances the quality of our lives and the places we live in. Local distinctiveness
and the energy and buzz of communities (cultural, creative, economic and residential)
and their neighbourhoods can also be quickly and irreversibly damaged or destroyed
by neglect, poor planning and ineffective delivery.
We devise and help deliver strategies for supporting strong local cultures and distinctive places, with a long experience in working with communities under greatest challenge from change and growth.
We are currently working with the Gateway Boroughs in East and SE London
developing and commissioning a pre Olympics arts and sports programme
Our
Joint
Cultural Framework commissioned by the East London host boroughs (Newham,
Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Waltham Forest), London 2012 and Arts Council
England identified key themes and shared commitments to making local cultural
activity and investment one of the Olympic prizes.
We are working in Folkestone with the
Creative Foundation on three projects: DPA is lead advisor on their organisational
development programme (Thrive!); enabling the early stages of the Find Your
Talent project and developing the Creative Foundation's research and evaluation
strategy.
