Thames Gateway
DPA has been working with Thames
Gateway London Partnership since 2001 as its cultural and creative industries
strategic advisor, developing collaborative activity between local authorities,
Universities and other cultural partners. This supports the regeneration of
East and South East London in two ways.
It helps the local authorities and others collaborate to ensure that London’s
Olympic project delivers tangible benefits to cultural and creative businesses
in the area, and to the communities and neighbourhoods where they work. See
for example the work we are doing with the Gateway
Boroughs to develop jointly programmed arts and sports activity from 2008.
It provides a common approach for policy and funding bodies to develop a
coordinated, long term approach to funding cultural infrastructure –
workspaces, places to make and enjoy cultural and creative activities etc.
– and supporting the contribution which cultural enterprises and creative
businesses make to the Thames Gateway economy.
